The executive director of the Mississippi Fair Commission Steve Hutton was arrested on Wednesday afternoon for promoting prostitution.

According to a news release from the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, Hutton, 54, was booked in the Madison County Detention Center.

Hutton, who started working with the Mississippi Fair Commission in June of 2018, was a professional golfer for nineteen years before founding Momentum Events, Inc., which produced marriage conferences within mega-churches across the United States.

The Mississippi Fair Commission issued the following statement:

“Today, the Mississippi Fair Commission voted to terminate the employment of executive director Steve Hutton. The Fair Commission has an experienced staff in place to continue operations at the Fairgrounds. The construction of the new Trade Mart and the installation of new Coliseum seats both continue, as does the partnership with UMMC and the Mississippi Department of Health to provide a convenient and safe location for a COVID-19 testing facility.”
