Kickoff for this Saturdays matchup between Ole Miss and Alabama in Oxford has been pushed back to 6:30 p.m. due to the projected path of Hurricane Delta.
Originally set to begin at 5 p.m., Ole Miss Athletics announced the time change with the intent to provide a forecast for better game conditions.
This decision was made with the safety and wellbeing of our student-athletes, staff and fans as the priority, Ole Miss AD Keith Carter said. I appreciate the cooperation of the SEC, Alabama and ESPN in changing the start time, and we will be prepared to make any other necessary operational adjustments to ensure a safe gameday environment. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those that could be impacted by this storm.
Impacts from #HurricaneDelta will be felt across MS Friday through Saturday. The strongest wind and heaviest rain is expected across the southwestern portion of the state and west of I-55. There will also be a threat for spin up tornadoes during this timeframe. #mswx pic.twitter.com/M0TfNFoJ4R
