If the 2020 college football season does end up happening, members of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) will only be playing other SEC teams.
According to AL.com, the conference has decided to postpone the start of the season to September 26, and teams will play a reduced 10-game schedule.
Sources say an official announcement is set to be made at 3:45 p.m. CDT Thursday afternoon.
This decision comes less than 24 hours after the Athletic Coast Conference (ACC) decided to move to a schedule that would consist of 10 conference games and one non-conference game.
The SEC would be the third Power Five conference to move to a conference-only schedule as both the Big Ten and the Pac-12 have announced their intentions to forego all nonconference games.
This is a developing story.
